Kids and Car Safety's tireless work has saved the lives of countless babies over the last 25 years and it's all thanks to generous givers like YOU. After a tremendous amount of work, all new vehicles sold or leased in the U.S. now come with the following safety features as standard equipment;
- a backup camera (# of children being backed over is decreasing!)
- an emergency glow-in-the-dark trunk release (not one person has died in the trunk of a car with a release)
- a safety feature requiring a foot on the brake to shift a vehicle into gear, reducing the number of children injured or killed from knocking cars into gear
- safer power window switches preventing serious injury, strangulation, or even death
- soon vehicles will come with rear seat belt reminders for all passengers
- soon vehicles will come with technology to prevent hot car deaths
